I went to the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education. Since that time, I've taught for many years, leading classes in preschool, Headstart, Early Headstart, and remedial reading. I've helped many students reach that moment where they light up as they understand something for the first time, including reading. I'm still fascinated by how students develop reading skills. I believe it is the job of the teacher to find whatever way they can to inspire a child to want to learn. Every student learns differently, so I must find out how that student learns best and then take advantage of that to help them find success. When I have free time, I like to knit, read, camp, and spend time with family.
